Our Commitment
Brikl Technologies Ltd ("Brikl", "we", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of every vendor who uses our Service. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what your rights are.
The short version: your business data is yours. We use it to run the Service. We do not sell it. We do not share it with advertisers.
1. Data We Collect
When you use Brikl, we collect the following categories of data:

2. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect exclusively to:
- Operate the Brikl Service (quote generation, payment logging, queries)
- Generate your monthly bookkeeping report (Pro plan)
- Identify funding programmes you may qualify for (Pro plan)
- Send you service notifications via WhatsApp (payment reminders, report alerts)
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the Service
- Improve the accuracy and quality of the AI features
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your data with funding organisations without your explicit consent.
3. Data Sharing
We share data in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We use trusted infrastructure partners (cloud hosting, AI processing) who are contractually bound to data security standards. They process data only on our behalf.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by Nigerian law, court order, or regulatory authority.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity under equivalent privacy protections.
4. WhatsApp and Meta
Brikl operates on the WhatsApp Business Platform provided by Meta. Your messages to Brikl pass through Meta's infrastructure. Meta's own privacy policies apply to the transmission of messages via WhatsApp. We encourage you to review WhatsApp's Privacy Policy.
5. Receipt Image Processing
When you forward a bank receipt screenshot to Brikl, the image is sent to our AI processing system to extract the payment amount and date. Receipt images are processed in real-time and are not stored after the amount has been extracted. We retain only the extracted data (amount, date, bank name) — not the original image.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you stop using Brikl:
- Your data is retained for 90 days after last activity
- After 90 days, your data is permanently deleted from our systems
- Backups are purged within 30 days after the primary deletion
You may request earlier deletion by contacting us at privacy@brikl.ai.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data at any time
- Portability: Request your transaction data in a machine-readable format (CSV)
- Objection: Object to certain uses of your data
To exercise any of these rights, send a message to privacy@brikl.ai or message Brikl on WhatsApp with the word "My data".
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. See our Security page for full details. In summary: all data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel only.
9. Children
Brikl is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided data to us, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via your Brikl WhatsApp chat at least 14 days before they take effect. The updated policy will always be available at brikl.ai/privacy.
11. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by Nigerian data protection regulations, including the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019 and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
